In another recent diva-like incident, Jennifer Hudson apparently tried to cancel her performance at the Soul Train Awards, even though she was schedule to receive the Sammy Davis Jr. Award for Entertainer of the Year.

“Jennifer called Friday and said she couldn’t make it,” said our source.

“Soul Train” producer Don Cornelius immediately called Clive Davis, the legendary J Records mogul who created the careers of Whitney Houston, Alicia Keyes and dozens of other artists.

“Clive called Jennifer and read her the riot act. He said, ‘Get your ass out to L.A.’ and then hung up on her.”

The strong talk from her de facto boss evidently worked because “she showed up.”

I don’t even get why this chick thinks she’s so amazing. She was in one movie with Beyonce and got an award for it. Big deal. Anyone can be in a movie with Beyonce and look like the next coming of William Shakespeare (or, uh, some chick that’s equally as admired). I can’t wait for another year or two to pass by and be able to report that she’s broke, living in a basment and surviving off of her free Burger King for life card.

Jennifer Hudson is delusional

During a recent interview, Jennifer Hudson shot back and Simon Cowell, who said that she should have thanked American Idol when she won her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. She said:

“If I’d been any better at my job when I was at Burger King in my middle teens, I wouldn’t be here either, so should I thank them, too?”

And since this apparently was a huge compliment to Burger King, they decided to give her a lifetime pre-paid “BK crown card”, and released this statement:

“…In response to Jennifer’s recent comments in which she asked if she should be thanking Burger King, we say thanks, but no thanks are necessary. Burger King Corporation is proud of Jennifer’s success and while we never like to lose employees, in this case, our loss is the entertainment industry’s gain … To further show our support for Jennifer, and make sure she never has to sing for her supper again, Burger King Corporation is giving her a pre-paid BK Crown Card that will be automatically reloaded for life.”

Now, this girl is just finally starting to lose weight, so I’m assuming this is their attempt to win her back. After all, I’m sure their stock has plummeted since she stopped eating there. And with Britney in rehab, I’m surprised they haven’t gone bankrupt.

The 79th Annual Academy Awards / Oscars were last night

Um, so until about five minutes ago, I thought the Academy Awards and the Oscars were two different awards shows, and that Cameron Diaz somehow used the power of fug to appear at both of them. Anyway, I meant to watch them (and by “tried”, I mean “intentionally hid the remote so that I’d actually have to walk to the TV to turn it on, which takes way too much strength”), but other important stuff just got in the way, so here’s an overview of the winners:

Best Picture - The Departed
Best Actress - Helen Mirren in “The Queen”
Best Actor - Forest Whitaker as Idi Amin in “The Last King of Scotland”
Best Supporting Actor - Alan Arkin in “Little Miss Sunshine”
Best Supporting Actress - Jennifer Hudson in “Dreamgirls”
