Avril Lavigne may never sing again

Avril Lavigne might ditch music for an acting career.

The Canadian star says she is bored of singing and is ready for a new challenge in her career.

Lavigne, who voices a possum in new animated movie ‘Over The Hedge’, said: “I’ve had a singing career for five years. I’m ready to try out new stuff and have some fun.”

The ‘Complicated’ singer has revealed she is keen to star in a dark drama and would love a role that allowed her to show a range of different emotions.

She revealed to Britain’s TV Hits magazine: “I like more serious roles. I can see myself in something like ‘Girl Interrupted’. I would enjoy doing a film on the darker side, something serious with depth. I’m good at expressing myself and getting all my emotions out.”

And let me just say, that I would be very, very relieved if she truly did quit torturing my ears singing. Now if she could just never been seen in public again, my life would be that much more euphoric.
