Britney Spears almost injured Sean Preston. Again.

Posted on May 19th, 2006 by Jordan Johnson
File Under: Britney Spears, Celebrity Babies, Embarrassing Celebrity Pictures, Sean Preston Federline

So Britney Spears almost injured Sean again. I don’t even know if this counts as news anymore, since it’s become about as common as Paris Hilton being a retard.

OMG! Good thing that guy was there to save Sean!

Tim says:

Britney Spears is an unfit parent.

Merber says:

AGAIN?! She’s so f*cked up! What trash.
And has anyone seen the pic of her driving with curlers in? The baby’s carseat is in BACKWARDS. WTF???

Bluegyrrl says:

Ok… most of the time I completely agree with the Brit parenting issue. But I gotta feel for her here. I too had a child that was “healthy” and when carrying him around, he would sometimes just completely out of the blue, feel the need to jerk backwards. He would laugh histerically as I struggled to keep him from cracking his skull open in front of everyone. So yes she has parenting issues.. but this one here looks like she had a hold of him just fine (and at least she’s the one holding her own child this time) until he flopped backwards like so many babies do at that age.

Lead says:

Bluegyrrl, I don’t agree at all… Dont make this fault the babys, he’s a toddler for Christ sake, of course they twitch and kick, I feel so bad this is happening and I don’t doubt there’s more to come from this. That man trying to help out is nice.

Merber says:

It’s true what Bluegyrrl says. As a parent of 2 kids, it is all too common for them to suddenly flop backwards like that, and it’s frightening. But I read on the verizon news page that she was exiting a hotel, holding a DRINK in one hand and her son in the other and proceeded to trip over her own self…
???

fangirl says:

wow. she should really concider taking some classes about how to take care of a baby…. I realize that unexpected things happen but she is constantly “almost” injuring him. It’s a bit rediculous.

Jordan Johnson says:

Bluegyrrl, perhaps I should have used a different photo, but actually the reason I posted it was because she was holding a drink in the other hand. My instinct would be to drop the drink and grab the baby to keep it from falling backwards, but pictures right after the fact show that she held the drink steady so as not to spill it.

Oh, and the guy who caught the baby is apparently her new bodyguard.

LaNiRo says:

I too have a couple of kids and I know full well that babies will suddenly decide that it’s time to start jerking around when you’re trying to hold them. About the car seat being backwards, babies up to 1 year are supposed to face backward in the backseat (I say this assuming that Merber was not saying that the carseat is backwards because it was actually pointing forward).

I do not by any means condone this silly broads action. I had my first child when I was 20 (much younger than this chick) and I NEVER would have thought about putting my baby in the front seat with me unless there was somebody literally trying to kill me and/or my child. I am pretty sure the papparazzi haven’t gone so low as to inadvertently hurt britney while she was trying to put her spawn in his carseat. She needs to go back to the sticks with her mama so she can learn how to be a better mother without so much distraction. I am truly sorry for her son and her unborn. That have one of the shittiest moms on Earth (the only thing that could make her shittier is if she decided she wanted to smoke crack in front of them and then offer them some)

Merber says:

I agree LaNiRo. And yes, When I said that the baby’s carseat was “backwards” I meant it in the sense that it was facing forward instead of the recommended rear-facing position. Brit is trailer trash to the extreme. Enough already. If this were you or I, we’d be fined a hefty sum and charged with child endangerment.

anacyde says:

Now, I’m not - nor was I ever - a Britney Spears fan. As far as her recent and well-publicized blunders, I think driving around with a baby on your lap is beyond idiotic and there was just no excuse for it. However, I do think the media is being harsh, as is the public in general, on the other mishaps.

The baby’s fall from his high chair was horrifying, but the nanny was to blame for that and was fired afterward. The improperly positioned carseat is a debatable issue, basically because it is a suggestion and not a law (in most places anyway). Now while I personally have positioned my children in the rear-facing position, I can’t say that I believe the girl needs a parenting class for that, nor a citation. I’m pretty sure she’s heard plenty now on how it is much safer to position her son facing back, and I’m sure she will from now on.

In regard to the NYC stumbling incident, I don’t know about the rest of the world…but if I were walking with my son (I have a son the same age as Sean) through a crowd of overzealous camera-toting people who were willing to do *anything* to snap photos of me and my child, my first and foremost thought would be protecting him from that. In addition, had I had the world breathing down my neck just waiting for the next thing to criticize me for…my anxiety would probably be through the roof, and I’m pretty sure there is little exception to that across the board.

She stumbled on uneven pavement. I’ve done it, and it didn’t even require too-long jeans or wobbly shoes…I was in sneakers. Do I think this qualifies her as a bad mother? No. Do I think it is “just another in a string of bad parenting moves”? No. I don’t think it should even qualify. I think it’s the public that is getting pitiful about this, not Britney.

Bottom line: the lap road trip was stupid and dangerous. The carseat episode, questionable. The rest of it, not worth the hype that the media has given it. I think Britney and her son have been victims of circumstance and bad timing.

And since we’re on the topic of what not to do in cars with kids…at least she isn’t sitting in a closed-in car, smoking a cigarette with her baby inside like I saw some retard doing the other day. I’m sure she would have issues with Britney’s parenting skills too - because it makes her own stupidity more bearable and she could justify continuing to poison her child with her smoking habit. “Uh durrh, at least my kid was in the carseat facing backward; having him in a toxic smoke box is waaay less bad than that!”

People love others’ dirty laundry because it makes their own look cleaner. Simple.

Sezza says:

She was holding a drink in one hand and the baby in the other, then she tripped. There is a video of it: http://video.uk.msn.com/v/en-gb/v.htm?g=cd392d56-faca-4a59-8566-3001d173c7ac&f=rssimbot_en-gb_default

Sezza says:

sorry the link needs to be copied into the browser :P That vid makes me cringe!!

Merber says:

Aw, but it’s fun to dis Brit!

yummygirllova says:

I can feel for Brittany. I am her age and know what its like to be a new mum, pregnant again, and dealing with a roller-coaster relationship. Not only does she have this to cope with, but she’s under the constant scrutiny of the media who for some reason, (since her short and stupid marriage to that unknown) have been on her back. She was the pop princess, but since making a few mistakes during her learning years, shes totally bagged…. so what!!! Who hasnt made mistakes.
As for being a mother i dont believe in all that Brittany does, but who are all of us to judge her? I’m sorry, but all we know about Brittany is what we see and read in the media, so how can that make her a bad mother all round. Obviously there only going to bad note her, thats what the media does, so how do the few incidents in the year that have occured (nothing serious enough to hurt/injure/affect Sean Preston) make her a bad mother? At least she hasnt palmed her child off to some nanny while she goes about her career rarely seeing them, like most celebrities- Shes there with her child, and thats the most important thing. Maybe the media need to publish some happy stories about her (yeah right).
As for this recent picture, children throw themselves around, but the thing is most parents have time and space to react to the situation. Most mothers dont have 5000 people surrounding them, trying to take photo’s, get in the way, ask questions, and do whatever paperazzi do. Perhaps if Brittany wasnt followed and harrassed everywhere she went, she could spend more time focusing on what she was doing- rather than what everyone else was doing.
From personal experience (prob unlike yourselves- those that are bagging her) bringing a child into this world is a very tough job, but imagine how tough it is with a boyfriend thats not as empathic as she’d hoped, and under pressure from the rest of the world!!!! Give her a little bit of break hey!!!

magirl43 says:

I’m about Brits age, and I wear big bell bottom jeans all of the time. I am at a weird height where if I buy jeans either they are too short or too long, so I think its better if they are long. The bottoms get all shredded, when it rains they get wet (feels crappy when wearing flip-flops) and when it snows the bottoms get stained with road saly… I also hae a pair of overalls that are about 3 inches too long, and thats with the straps adjusted, my boyfriend likes it when I wear them like that, so I know how Brit feels when she trips on her big pants…. i feel bad for her…
